The first buff baby of the season

Now that the last of last season's buffs have been sold it is time to start with this season's hatch. This little baby is the first out. She is as sweet as can be and very adventuresome.

The joy of this line of silkies is that they will all mother all the babies. I don't think this hen hatched her out, but she is content to act as mama anyway. Even the roosters will take a hand at parenting. It is awfully sweet.

There are a ton of eggs under the four hens sitting so hopefully we will have more silkies hatching out soon.

Goodness, this is precious! She is so tiny!!! She'd probably never learn to walk b/c I'd hold her all day. ;o)

I know, Sarah! She just snuggles down into your hand and cheeps a bit before falling asleep. Sweetness! I went out this morning and there is another one toddling about. Let the silkie run begin! :)
